This is a forged copper candle holder. We use antique and contemporary metalsmithing tools and techniques to form and texture the metal. The top of this design is formed as if two leaves were laid over the opening of the holder, with the narrow ends of the leaves extending over the outside edge of the opening—the two narrow ends facing opposite each other. We have folded and hammered the metal to resemble the center veins leaves always have, and then we rolled the pointed ends of the leaf shapes into sweet little curls. The rest of the design elements of this candle holder are architectural and have a contemporary feel to them. A very beautiful contrast of the organic with the architectural which we always find exciting in a design. We hope you think so too. Lastly, layers of patina were applied then waxed and buffed to enhance the marks of our hammers and add a rich bronze color to the metal. One of a kind.
