This is a bud vase made entirely of pure copper. We use antique and contemporary metalsmithing tools and techniques to form and texture the metal. The surface detail is hand painted on to the copper with a specialty paint then etched into the copper using electrical current. We apply layers of bronze patina until we achieve the color we want then buff the patina to enhance the etchings and our hammer marks. Finally, we wax the surface to protect the patina from water and deepen the color of the patina. Heavy for it’s size and one of a kind.
