This is a bud vase made from pure copper. We use antique and contemporary metalsmithing tools and techniques to form and texture the metal. The images are drawn on the copper by hand using a specialized paint and then etched into the copper using an electrical current. The bronze patina is applied in several layers and buffed to enhance the details of the etching. We apply wax to the patina to protect from water and to give depth to the color. One of a kind.
